OKEHAMPTON Smallbore Rifle Club’s top lady shooter, Di Johnson, has enjoyed a superb season. For the first time ever, she won the North Devon Ladies’ Championship for her Okehampton Club.
Shooting 18 rounds (cards) indoors at 25 yards over the winter/spring season of 2015/16, she scored 1,762 out of a possible maximum 1,800 (100 per card) dropping just 38 points to give her an average of 97.89 per card.
Amanda Elliot, a spokesperson for OSRC, said: ‘This is a wonderful achievement and her club are really proud of her.’
Not only has she won the North Devon Ladies’ Championship, she was also second in the Devon Ladies’ Championship – with an even higher average of 98.28. Then finally, in the Devon League, which consists of some 250 competitors from across the county, she was eighth – her best ever placing.
A very delighted Di said of her achievements: ‘I am really pleased to have shot so well this season and am already looking forward to next season.’
